Indian Border Security Force officers who are part of the camel
contingent prepare for a demonstration during the
Desert Festival in Jaisalmer, India February 5,2004. Though the soldiers main
task is to patrol the border with Pakistan on camels, they are always part of
the numerous parades and exhibitions across India. The border between India
and Pakistan is porous and complicated and the camels are an important part
of the Indian military.
