To qualify for the camp, the youngsters must have
spent at least four days in a hospital burn center. Although, the children
scars vary, some can be hidden whereas others are visible all over the body,
the children feel free here to just be. "It's a place where I can relate
with other people," said LaMonica Agnew, 11. "I have learned people
may talk about me, but if they don't talk to me, they have nothing to
say," said Agnew, who plays hand games with her friend Katie Schuchardt.
