DESOLATE STREET - On a stormy fall evening at the intersection of 22nd St. S. and 9th Ave. the sky is as foreboding as the business prospects along the historic street. The SouthCity Grocery and Meat Market (at left) is one of the few places open after dark. Most of the old time shops, like Harden's Grocery (the building on the right side of the road) which closed about 1990, have had locks on their doors for years.
