04/03/02 Meeker-Trohpy heads are stored in a spare guest room at the Meeker Hotel while the restaurant is being renovated. Teddy Roosevelt once stayed at the hotel during big game hunting trips to the western slope, where hunting is a way of life and a big part of the economy. If the hunting industry dries up, the economy there will be devastated.
