"A SOLDIERS'S NEW BATTLE"

1 of 10

A roadside bomb in Iraq irrevocably changed Bryan Anderson's life. He lost three limbs but refuses to lose his spirit of optimism and self-sufficiency. He's lived for a year in a military hospital trying to regain his mobility. Though never a big man, Anderson weighs a mere 80 pounds now and says he will forever be connected to those men who dragged his bleeding body from a burning vehicle in Iraq.

Specialist Bryan Anderson stares at where his hand used to be while trying to learn to walk again on prosthetic legs. Anderson is one of only four triple amputees that have survived Iraq to return home to the United States.
