A group of kids run across Woodlawn near 73rd St.
across from the old Midwest Gulf State Factory. Only the floor remains of the
Midwest Gulf State Company on S. Woodlawn. Like many other factories in the
neighborhood, the Midwest was a solid employer for local residents for many
years. The factory which manufactured tiles, paint and asphalt shuttered its
doors in 1988.
