Leopard seals have always had a fiercesome
reputation. The fact that they eat penguins, such as this Gentoo penguin
does not help their reputation any. However, in 2003, things took a turn for
the worst when Kirsty Brown, a British scientist was attacked and killed by a
leopard seal. Humans always judge wild animals during their worst moments.
With this story, we set out to discover if they were truly the vicious beasts
they were said to be or were simply aggressive and confident predators
enjoying life at the top of the food chain.
