"WORKING IT"
Emily Stanfield, 13, combs her hair before meeting up
with her new boyfriend during an evening hour of free play at Camp Shane in
Ferndale, NY. Emily lost about thirty pounds last year at the weight-loss
camp. 'But I gained it all back,' said Emily, who's returning for a
third time this summer. At home, many of the children say they feel fat and
unattractive. However, at camp they are among equals. They can relax and be
themselves, they say.
