"Gunner"
Texas National Guardsman Spc. James Smauldon of
Houston is the gunner on the lead vehicle during a convoy from Camp Speicher
to Camp Danger in Tikrit, Iraq. Convoy security missions have proven to be
the most deadly assignments in Iraq. Improvised Explosive devices and
ambushes are a constant threat.
