A Nepalese boy protests against King

Nepal, a Himalayan kingdom where 90% of its 23 million people live in the
villages and 60 percent are below the poverty line, a 8 year insurgency war
for communism is tearing through the fabric of society. The worst affected
are children who have nothing to do with the politics and as the conflict
expands, estimates predict that 500,000 to 600,000 children will be drawn
into the war. The Maoist insurgency has left more than 9,500 people dead
since 1996.
