'Kazuo Fujii'
On June 27,
1944, his second day of combat in Italy, Kazuo
Fujii drove over a mine. He and his passenger survived, but the blast left
Fujii with a concussion that persists today as tinnitus, a ringing in his
ears. He returned to his family in Troutdale, OR. 'They still had one of
those 'No Japs' sign up.' he says.
