The
world's deadliest conflict of the moment is unfolding in the western
provinces of Democratic Republic of Congo. It has claimed more than 2 million
lives. As is so often the case in Africa, children are the ones paying the
highest price. These photographs were taken in the Bunia area for UNICEF and
the Canadian International Development Agency in August 2003.
