"David Sams"
David Sams is a candidate for governor in California's recall election.
He says he may be the underdog, but if elected "I will work like a
dog."
From mid-August through the end of September,
photographer Brian Vander Brug traveled the state of California giving all
135 candidates a chance to sit for a portrait. Each was asked to bring a prop
or adopt a pose, if they wished, to symbolize their candidacy in an attempt
to put a face on this diverse group of people.
