US Marines of the 1st Marine Division secure 19 Iraqi Army POW's, some
who surrendered, 100 miles south of Baghdad, April 1, 2003. Diwaniya, a city
of 300,000 residents, was reported to have 3000 Saddam fidayeen and 30 Iraqi
Army tanks. The Marines killed 50-75 Iraqis and captured dozens of POW's and
weapons.
