Ê Peacekeeping troops struggled to keep eager Afghan fans at bay as a crowd of thousands tried to get into the sold-out "Game of Unity" soccer match between the British team and Kabul United. The crowd pushed, shoved, and climbed their way into the walled compound to the area where troops were searching people before they entered Ghazi Stadium. Many were crushed in the mob of thousands that crowded around the walls. Peacekeepers eventually fired warning shots, tear gas, and used dogs to get the unruly crowd under control and back out of the area.
