"Slippery Slope"
Although mostly unsuccessful, the x-country runners
used every possible technique as they attempted to get through the puddle
without falling. First year runner Eric Bodell, 16, had some trouble with the
mud. "All the other coaches were telling their students to run to the
left or right, so I went right down the middle." explains Bodell.
"I took one step and my left shoe stuck in the mud and I fell. I lost my
shoe and had to finish with only one."
