Marcy Nighswander, professor, Ohio University. Nighswander, a professor at Ohio University's School of Visual Communication, teaches several photojournalism courses. Prior to teaching at OU, she was an Associated Press staff photographer for seven years at the Washington D.C. bureau. While there she was one of a group of AP photographers that won a Pulitzer Prize for feature photography for their coverage of the 1992 presidential campaign. Nighswander's first job was as the only photographer at The Review Times in Fostoria, Ohio. From there she joined the staff of The Beacon Journal in Akron, Ohio, where she worked for ten years. She worked at The Cincinnati Post before moving to Washington, D.C. Her work has been published in numerous magazines, newspapers, books and four volumes of The Best of Photojournalism. |
